Donaldsville’s First Masonic Lodge

During the Civil War, Donaldsville went under attack by a U.S. Navy gunboat that caused severe damages. This attack demolished the Perkins Lodge Hall. The lodge continued to struggle until 1879. Its location was on the corner of Railroad Avenue and Mississippi Street, over the second story of Cheap Tony’s dry goods store, which is now the Hibernia National Bank.
