A Welcome Letter From Our Grand Master

M:W: Lloyd E. Hennigan, Jr. - Grand Master

The Grand Lodge of Louisiana, F. & A. M., and the Masons who make up its 264 constituent Lodges, extend to all a cordial welcome, whether you are a member, a sojourner or among the uninitiated.

As you view the material presented here, bear in mind that Freemasonry, A Fraternity based on the precepts of the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Men, means many things to many people. Masons should never forget, nor miss an opportunity to inform the uninitiated, that we are a fraternity of men from all walks of life who meet as equals in a common quest for knowledge and a better life, both philosophical and material, for all mankind. Masonry strives to make good men better and to foster in each an appreciation for the practices of friendship, morality, and brotherly love, exercised through faith, hope, charity, fortitude, prudence, temperance, justice and a belief in Diety. Although an atheist cannot become a Mason, the Masonic Fraternity accepts men of all religious persuasions, which are based on a belief in one God, and most religions find the moral teachings of Masonry acceptable.

If you have unanswered questions concerning Freemasonry, please speak to a knowledgeable member, or contact the Grand Secretary at the Grand Lodge Office by E-mail or telephone (318) 443-5610.

Fraternally yours,

Lloyd E. Hennigan, Jr.
Grand Master
