A Welcome Letter From Our Grand Master

M:W: J.F. "Jeff" Webb - Grand Master

The Grand Lodge of Louisiana, F. & A. M., and the Masons who make up its 264 constituent Lodges, extend to all a cordial welcome, whether you are a member, a sojourner or among the uninitiated.

As you journey through our website, reflect upon the fact that Freemasonry is not a religion, although it is religious in nature.  Our members profess a belief in the Fatherhood of God, The Brotherhood of Man and the Immortality of the Soul.  No atheist can ever be or become a Mason.  Freemasonry adopts no particular creed and forbids any sectarian discussion within its Lodge rooms, encouraging each to be steadfast in the faith of his acceptance.  The principal tenants of Freemasonry are; Friendship, Morality, Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.  Freemasonry takes good men into its ranks and through a series of degrees, lectures and lessons, helps them to build themselves into better men.  Freemasonry is taught by symbolic and allegorical means and can mean different things to different individuals.  Therefore, no individual speaks for Freemasonry.

If you have unanswered questions concerning Freemasonry, please speak to a knowledgeable member, or contact the Grand Secretary at the Grand Lodge Office by E-mail or telephone (318) 443-5610.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

J.F. “Jeff” Webb
Grand Master
